Now, as a graphic designer, why would I include a collection of drawings in my portfolio?

 

Well, I believe drawing is a fundamental skill needed to be a competent designer. Drawing taught me the basics of proportion, shading, drawing with intent, hierarchy, and the relationship between empty space and a balanced composition.

 

Every skill I learned in my drawing classes have transferred over to my graphic design skills and sharpened my technique. I design with more intention and more attention to detail than before I took these classes.​​
